Faraday Centre Visit

Over the last 2 weeks the senior classes have visited the Faraday Centre as part of their topic, Machines and Inventions.

We got to use an old Maori hand drill. You had to carefully twist the strings and hold them between you thumb and finger, then gently but quickly pull them in and out, while pushing downward. It was tricky to start with but easy once you got the hang of it.

Another stand out activity was the Leonardo Da Vinci Bridge. You had to carefully construct the bridge which is made only of sticks, no nails or anything! It was strong enough that we could walk over it.
